We are located in New York and specialize in providing clarity through our network desk services.
Getting the Most From Your Message
A clear first message saves time on both sides. When you write to the Ontok desk, a few details up front help us understand what you are looking at and point you to the right material, whether that is a topology map, an entry in the partner index or one of our tech briefs.
What to include
- The page or topic you are asking about. If your question relates to something on our Network or Research pages, mention the section or diagram by name.
- The context of your setup. For network questions, a short description helps: the rough size of the environment, whether it is home, office or campus, and the kind of equipment involved. Please leave out passwords, private IP ranges you would rather keep confidential, and any credentials.
- What you have already tried. Listing the steps you have taken avoids suggestions you have already ruled out.
- Corrections or suggestions. If you spot an outdated detail or an unclear explanation, tell us where it is and what you think should change.
Partnership and event enquiries
If you are reaching out about being listed alongside others in the partner index, take a look at the Partners page first so you know how the index is organised. For questions about meetups or talks we have written about, the Events page is the best starting point, and organisers' own channels remain the authoritative source for dates and registration.
A note on expectations
Ontok is an independent desk focused on explaining networks and technology clearly. We do not provide emergency support, manage infrastructure on anyone's behalf or act for any vendor. For urgent outages or security incidents, contact your service provider or IT team directly. For everything else, a concise email with the details above is the quickest way to a useful reply.
